You can specify that FUSE overrides its algorithm and:

  • display a static result as result number one (e.g. to advertise an upcoming conference registration being open)
  • display a dynamic result based on keywords/phrases entered (e.g. a user entering the keyword 'conference' would trigger a special conference result to show as result number one).
FUSE calls these 'House Ads.'

These could be styled to look like regular result items to blend in or they could be specially designed in a distinguishing way with special fields or calls to action — any HTML/CSS would do.

You're also not limited to just one result - you could show several if desired. Finally, these 'ads' can be seasonal. Maybe you only want the 'register for conference' ad to show for five months out of the year.

Automation

You may be able to distinguish what you'd like for FUSE to show as an 'ad' via one of the content connectors.  For example, you may have a tag in your content management system assigned to a content item called 'FUSE-Ad.'  FUSE could look for this tag to make the determination that it should be shown as a House Ad atop the search results.  This allows you to control when the ad displays and its contents.
